Zojirushi Gourmet Sizzler Electric Griddle EA-TAC35TK

The Zojirushi Gourmet Sizzler Electric Griddle EA-TAC35TK is part skillet, part griddle, but all about efficient cooking.
This unit consists of a 16x18-inch oval base, which supports a circular heating element, nonstick shallow skillet, and full-view glass lid. Each of the components (heating element, pan and lid) lift off the base for easy cleaning. The Gourmet Sizzler is attractively styled with a taupe base and black skillet and handles.
We loved the large shallow cooking surface of this skillet, which has a raised diamond pattern that contributes to its nonstick capability. Built from a titanium ceramic material, it's one of the most durable surfaces we've seen. You can even use metal cooking utensils without worry about damaging the nonstick surface. Sharp cutting implement, such as knives, should not be used, however.
The power for the dual circular heating element is supplied by a variable temperature probe. With settings from keep warm to 480 degrees Fahrenheit, the Zojirushi Gourmet Sizzler provides a full range of cooking options. A handy ready light on the probe alerts you when the skillet has reached the proper temperature. The light cycles on and off during cooking.
The cooking surface heats up quickly and delivers a uniform level of heat across the entire cooking surface. The large cooking surface -- approximately 13.7 inches in diameter -- provides ample room for cooking a batch of pancakes, eggs, French toast or other griddle foods. Because the pan also has a full perimeter side wall, with a depth of about 1 inch, the pan is well suited to cooking skillet meals, such as chicken or veal Parmesan, shrimp scampi and other recipes with liquid ingredients. The unit's domed glass lid rests on top of the skillet to lock in moisture.
The Zojirushi Gourmet Sizzler also comes with its own mini spatula, which is handy for turning grilled sandwiches, pancakes and the like. The diamond pattern of the cooking surface not only aids in the release of foods but also adds a delicate pattern to pancakes, breads and more.
A built-in safety feature prevents insertion of the probe unless the skillet is properly sitting atop the heating unit and both are placed in the base.
