Westinghouse DPF-0802 Digital Picture Frame
Date Published: 10/24/07
Whether you want unique features, a sharp screen or a reasonable starting price, the Westinghouse DPF-0802 digital picture frame delivers.
The DPF-0802's most noticeable feature is its four-in-one screen option, which divides the screen into four equal sections and randomly displays different photos in each section. You even can select one photo to appear more often. Although this feature would work better on a screen larger than the 8-inch DPF-0802, it's still something you won't often find on a digital picture frame below $200.
Regardless of whether you use the full frame or the four-in-one feature, all images on the DPF-0802 look great, thanks to the high-resolution display. The screen has an especially high contrast ratio, bringing out the best in your pictures. The DPF-0802 could be a little brighter, but that's a minor issue.
Westinghouse includes 128MB of internal memory with the DPF-0802, which is a lot for a frame in this price range. The DPF-0802 can make use of nine different memory card formats, or you can connect a USB cable to load photos.
The DPF-0802 cannot run from a battery and it lacks a remote control for accessing the unit's playback options. It also doesn't have built-in speakers for MP3 audio. Fortunately, the other options and great display quality make up for what's missing. The Westinghouse DPF-0802 is a great value among digital picture frames, and it offers plenty of features to meet the needs of nearly any shopper.
Pros: Good price for the features offered, four-in-one display option, good display quality, 128MB internal memory, offers three different input options (internal memory, memory card, USB)
Cons: No remote control or battery option, four-in-one mode would benefit from larger screen, no speakers
