Styled all in black with stainless-steel trim, this versatile unit brews a 10-cup pot of traditional auto-drip coffee on one side and 4 cups of espresso on the other. A swing-out nozzle adds a frothing function for creamy cappuccinos, lattes, mochas, and more.

The auto-drip coffee function uses a swivel cone-shaped filter basket, 10-cup glass carafe with pour-through lid, lighted On/Off switch, and nonstick warming tray. There is also a pause-to-serve function that lets you interrupt brewing temporarily to pour a cup of coffee.

The espresso function uses a steam-boiler, 4-cup glass espresso carafe with cover espresso filter holder and sieve, two-cup adapter, removable drip tray and cover, and lighted On/Off switch. An advantage of this type of machine is you can have four shots of espresso ready at the same time. You will achieve less crema with the steam boiler than you'd get with a pump-operated espresso maker; however, you'll still get a hot, flavorful brew.

The steam-frothing wand is efficient for creating creamy frothed milk. It may take a few tries to master the technique for proper frothing without boiling the milk--a swirling motion with the nozzle positioned just below the surface works best.
