West Bend 41125 12-Speed Stand Mixer
Date Published: 5/18/06
The West Bend 41125 Stand Mixer has a powerful 300-watt motor that tackles strenuous mixing chores, such as thick cookie dough.
Styled in black and stainless steel, the mixer comes with an oblong base/mixer stand, mixer head, 1.5-quart and 4-quart stainless-steel mixing bowls, two large chrome beaters, two sturdy dough hooks, and a rotating platform. The mixer head locks into position on the base and releases with the touch of a lever for cleaning and storage.
The West Bend 41125 has a speed control dial that is located on the heel of the mixer head and has 12 settings: knead, stir, fold, blend, mix, beat, cream, mash potatoes, whip cream, whip desserts, frosting, and egg whites.
Electronic controls sense the mixing load and adjust power accordingly. The dial turns easily from one setting to the next so the speed adjustment is gradual and smooth. A series of mini lights shows the setting that is selected.
The lowest speeds are slow enough to mix dry ingredients without leaving a trail of dust all over your counter. The highest speeds can whip egg whites to stiff peaks in nothing flat. A handy power burst button adds a boost of power to any speed; however, we found the basic speeds to be so efficient that the boost was unnecessary.
You may never need 12 separate mixing speeds, yet the added versatility is welcome. When the mixing is done, the West Bend 41125 has a large beater eject button lets you remove the beaters for cleaning.
