Weed Eater GHT225 hedge trimmer

EThe Weed Eater GHT225 hedge trimmer is limited to cutting branches not much larger than a 3/8 inch in diameter, which may be a serious limitation for many homeowners. Weedeater is marketed under the PoulanPro family of outdoor power equipment.
The Weed Eater GHT225 uses a 25 cc 2-cycle gas engine to run its 22-inch double-sided, single-action reciprocating blade. It has a prime bulb for easy starting. An anti-vibration system is designed to cut down on vibration and the resulting operator fatigue.
We found that the Weed Eater GHT225 gas hedge trimmer performed basic greenery cutting chores. But it didn't cut as neatly as other models, possibly because of its single-action blade. The single cutting action is probably also the reason the GHT225 vibrated more than others. The unit cut branches about 3/8 inch -- not enough cutting capacity for some of the bushes we wanted to trim. The Weed Eater GHT225 feels less sturdy than many other gas hedge trimmers, as well. We did like the portability of the GHT225 and the fact that it cut at a variety of angles without stalling.
A large fuel tank on the Weed Eater GHT225 will allow you to work for a long time before having to stop to refuel. It comes fully assembled. The unit weighs 9.6 pounds.
The Weed Eater GHT225 will perform basic pruning of hedges and bushes for you, but it is limited by its small-diameter cutting capacity and by its single-action blade.

Cons: Single-action, small-diameter cutting capacity
