Wayne Dalton Quantum garage door opener (also called Classicdrive)
Date Published: 7/23/08
The Wayne Dalton Quantum (available from some retailers as Classicdrive brand) garage door opener is a traditional chain-driven unit that is wireless in its operation.
In addition to the wireless entry pad, it comes with wireless safety sensors and a wireless wall-mounted controller that can be mounted anywhere in the garage. You can also opt for mounting a second controller, a useful feature if your garage has a second entry door.
A keyless exterior-mounted entry pad that opens your garage door via a pin code also comes with the unit and is a nice feature for latchkey kids who are prone for losing or forgetting their keys. Although wireless controllers are neater and allow greater installation options, keep in mind that they don't work with dead batteries. Fortunately, the Quantum controller does have a low-battery indicator.
Control features include a safety delay button, which delays the door closing for 10 seconds from the time you push the button, and a programmable pet opener mode, which allows you to specify times when your pet can enter or exit the garage via a partially opened garage door. It's compatible with Homelink, a system that allows the drivers of most vehicles to use built-in Homelink controls to open garage doors, lighting, entry door locks, and more.
Another feature that sets the Wayne Dalton Quantum opener apart from other comparable units is its ability to reconnect the opener after you've used the emergency release.
