Waring Pro Retro RPM Blender RB75
Date Published: 11/28/06
The Waring Pro Retro RPM Blender RB75 is a professional quality heavy-duty machine with a powerful long-lasting motor and classic design. The brushed silver and stainless steel base stands 7-3/4 inches tall on four rubber suction feet and houses the professionally rated 550-watt 1/2-HP motor. Its power is immediately evident in the sheer weight of the unit (over 10 pounds) and unmistakable with every use.
Front and center on the base is the single knob precision control panel with its colorfully visible RPM meter which adjusts to display your three blending speeds. Speed one (yellow) and speed two (orange) run at 12,000 and 18,000 RPM respectively, and speed three (red) works at a powerful 24,000 RPM.
The 48-ounce, heavy-duty glass carafe measures 9-1/2 inches tall and features Waring's trademark cloverleaf design. It has easy-to-read measuring marks for up to 1-1/4 liters (6 cups). A separate flexible black plastic lid snaps on top and features a removable insert for easily adding extra ingredients and/or ice cubes to the jar while blending. We noticed that, because of the strength of the blender's churning, most mixtures had to be kept to less than 3 cups or less for very hot ingredients, to avoid overflow.
This blender performed with easy efficiency in every blending task tested from pureed tomatoes to creamy salad dressing to milkshakes, but it worked especially well for blending ice drinks and frozen smoothies. The blade design, the powerful churning action, the pulse setting and the removable lid insert combine for quick and effective ice crushing and smooth even blending. That same power, however, means that keeping a firm hand on the lid is standard operating procedure for this blender.
Straightforward efficiency, classic design, and professional power will make the Waring Pro Retro RPM Blender a welcome and well-used addition to any kitchen.
Pros: Professionally rated, powerful 550-watt 1/2 HP motor, heavy and weighted stainless-steel base, classic design
Cons: Strong churning motion requires you to hold the lid in place to prevent leakage through the top and limits the ingredients capacity, especially for hot mixtures
