The Waring Pro Pulp Eject Juice Extractor JEX450 is a mega-machine that uses a powerful centrifugal-force motor to pulverize fruits and vegetables, thereby extracting the vitamin-rich juices and separating the pulp, which is ejected into a separate container. This unit has a heavy-duty 850-watt motor, more than twice that of many others in its class. It has a brushed stainless-steel housing with black trim and black plastic removable parts, such as the 10-cup pulp container and juice collection cup.

A single toggle switch activates the two-speed motor, which goes to work immediately. This unit has an oversize 3-inch-diameter feed tube designed to accommodate larger pieces and, in some cases, whole produce items such as apples, carrots and tomatoes. We had no trouble fitting whole carrots and tomatoes; however, only smaller apples fit comfortably through the feed tube -- medium and large apples still need to be cut into quarters. The unit is so fast and efficient, though, that whatever time you may have to spend cutting produce is saved in this unit's processing. It took literally seconds to juice several apples, carrots and mangos for a blended juice cocktail.

We loved the two-speed operation, which slows down a bit for better extraction with softer produce and speeds up for harder produce, such as carrots. All of the parts, including the stainless-steel filter basket, filter bowl, top cover, food pusher, pulp container, and juice collector cup disassemble for cleaning. It is recommended that you clean the unit immediately after each use to prevent juice and pulp pieces from drying and adhering to the machine.

The juice collector cup holds 50 ounces or about six cups of juice and has a unique foam separator, which reduces any frothy buildup on the extracted juice. The juice container also fits neatly against the unit so that the juice spout actually fits inside the cup, eliminating any messy drips or spills. This unit is large, standing 13-3/4 inches tall, 10-1/2 inches wide, and 8 inches deep at its widest points, so be sure you have room in your kitchen before you buy.
