Vtech I5871 5.8GHz Expandable Cordless System
Date Published: 11/9/06
With a sleek base station and a thin elongated handset, the Vtech I5871 offers an original design and quite a few features. Aside from the aesthetics, the second most striking thing about this phone is the way incoming calls are identified. On the handset is a color LCD, so if users have downloaded photos from their PCs, callers can be easily identified. They can also be known through the distinctive ringers that can be self-recorded and downloaded. The other, perhaps more useful, thing that can download from one's PC is the Outlook telephone directory (up to 100 entries).
Transmissions are sent on the 5.8GHz frequency, so Wi-Fi networks are not affected; meanwhile, up to eight handsets can be supported on one phone line. The handsets, by the way, are thin enough to slide easily into a pants pocket, making the vibrating ringer an especially handy feature. Other features include: a 15-minute digital answering machine, conference calling, intercom, and call transfer. Overall, the Vtech I5871 is quality phone system with a unique look.
