Part of the Moderno Series, the VillaWare Moderno Citrus Juicer V41002 is classically styled in brushed chrome with a black juicing bowl, stainless-steel strainer, two clear juicing cones (reamers), and cover. The reamers are graduated in size, with pronounced ridges that grab the fruit to help release the juice. A simple press-and-release motion activates the motor and begins the rotation of the juicing cone.

The two reamers nest and snap together for juicing larger fruit. The smaller of the two reamers also can be used independently to juice limes, lemons, tangerines, or small oranges. As the fruit makes contact with the rotating cone, pulp and juice are released into the stainless-steel strainer and drip into the juicing bowl. An adjustable drip spout can be locked in the up position to allow juice to collect in the bowl, or it can be lowered to let juice flow into a glass or pitcher (up to 4-1/2 inches tall).

We found the Moderno Citrus Juicer to be quite efficient at extracting juice, and the stainless-steel grater kept the larger pulp and seeds from mixing with the juice. The angled juice container allows the juice to flow toward the spout. We found it convenient to leave the spout down during juicing and then to lock it in the upright position to prevent drips when either changing glasses or when you are finished juicing. The unit also comes with a transparent lid, which acts as a dust cover for storage.
