Uniden TRU8866 5.8GHz Digital Expandable Cordless System

Date Published: 5/19/05

The Uniden TRU8866 includes a base station and a single cordless phone, but it's the unit's expandability (up to 9 handsets can be added) that makes this one of the better 5.8GHz digital cordless systems on the market. Once you've expanded, other users can join calls at the press of the button. Additionally, handsets can communicate with each other by functioning as two-way radios, even when they are out of the base station's range. The base station is compact and well designed, and because it transmits signals on the 5.8GHz band, you do not have to worry about it interfering with wireless LANs. Range for the handsets is good, but perhaps the best feature of this two-line phone is that the superb quality of incoming sound. Other features include: handset speakerphones, speed dialing, distinctive ring tones, five-way conferencing, room monitoring, and a separate 100-entry phone book/caller ID log for each extension.
