Tupperware Chef Series 3-piece Complements Set 868
Date Published: 6/20/08
A surprising, yet welcome addition to the Tupperware line, the Chef Series 3-piece Complements Set 868 cutlery is as uncompromising as one might expect from a company that offers a lifetime guarantee on most of its products.
These knives are forged from hand-polished Japanese steel and were designed with the input from chefs in the United States and Europe. The gleaming stainless steel on these knives is accented by black polyoxymethylene (POM) handles. The POM material is an impact-resistant, state-of-the-art surface that is highly durable and has a smooth slip-free texture.
The forged blades are made with high heat and intense pressure that yields a durable and resilient metal, which holds its edge remarkably well. The professional-grade stainless-steel blades are rust resistant, and the tapered blades provide for well-balanced cutting.
We liked the feel of the smooth, seamless handles, and the elegant slanted transition from handle to bolster -- the thick piece of metal where the blade meets the handle.
The 3-piece Complements Set 868 comes with an 8-1/4-inch serrated bread knife, 7-inch filleting knife and 5-3/4-inch serrated utility knife. These knives are well suited for their own specific tasks, from slicing crusty breads and pastries to filleting fish or chicken, to slicing all types of fruits, vegetables and more. Although there is no all-purpose chopping blade in the set, the three knives are an excellent "complement" to an existing set. Additional knives are sold as open stock pieces, and Tupperware also has a 3-piece starter set (including Chef's, utility and paring knives) in the Chef Series line.
Tupperware Chef Series knives are guaranteed not to chip, crack, break, rust or pit under normal conditions and use for the lifetime of the product.
Pros: Forged from hand-polished Japanese steel, durable polyoxymethylene (POM) handles
Cons: None
