The Toastmaster TOV400 is styled all in white for a clean-looking appearance.

This unit's features include a full-view glass door with oversize (8-inch) stay-cool plastic handle, three large control knobs to set the function (broil or bake/toast), oven temperature (200-500 degrees Fahrenheit), and 30-minute timer. The timer also acts as an On button, activating the heating elements and shutting off the power when the set time runs out.

There is also a "stay on" setting for baking times longer than 30 minutes. This model stands 17x11-1/2x9 inches and accommodate up to 4 slices of bread, a whole 4-pound roasting chicken, or a 9-inch pie plate. It comes with a four-position wire baking rack, bake pan, and broil insert.

Since the heating elements are often in close proximity to the food, some over-browning can occur with longer bake times; to prevent this you can use foil to cover your baking container.

A nice feature of the Toastmaster TOV400 is the sliding rack, which automatically moves forward when the oven door is opened to provide easier access to cooked foods. Other features include a power light, drop-down crumb tray, and a wide, stable base with rubber feet.
