One look at the Tivoli Audio Model Two immediately reveals what's different about this compact stereo system. The Model Two combines a speaker with the audio controls in one component, and it puts the second speaker in a separate cabinet. This produces a stereo image as wide as 15 feet, and the system includes a 15-foot speaker cable. Note that the Model Two only has an AM/FM radio, and there is no CD or cassette player.

We tested the silver and black Model Two (model number 192). A taupe and cherry version (model number 144) is also available, with identical features and price.

For improved low-frequency response, each speaker has a rear-firing bass port. Need more bass? The Model Two has a subwoofer output, so you can add your own subwoofer. Even though it uses 3-inch full-range speakers, the added bass ports and stereo separation give the Model Two a rich, robust sound.

This stereo system has an amazing tuner. Usually, analog tuners are difficult to use accurately, but not this one. With the Model Two's fine-tune adjustment abilities, you can isolate the exact frequency you wish to listen to, and an LED shows when you're centered on a frequency. An external FM antenna helps you obtain clear radio reception.

There is an auxiliary input for adding another playback device, such as a CD player or MP3 portable. A balance control lets you mix the auxiliary input with radio playback. The Tivoli Audio Model Two brings fabulous sound quality to any bedroom or office, in a design that is sure to turn heads.
