ThinkTank Pro Modulus Speed Set

Date Published: 6/9/08

At first look it's easy to tell that this group of modular cases is quite different from the exceptionally broad variety of camera cases available today. The Think Tank Pro Modulus Speed Set is basically a 12-piece belt system from which you suspend a broad variety of smaller individual cases.

This makes the contents stored in each case far more rapidly accessible when needed while in the field than having the items stored on top of each other inside a single large bag. There is a racing harness to help support the weight of the belt from the shoulders. Many of the hanging cases can be attached to the belt in two ways: either locked in one position or fastened so they can be rotated toward the side or rear when not immediately needed.

All zippers are extra large and rugged, having both a large metal pull-tab plus a cord pull. A tethered pouch for digital memory cards is attached to the front for quick access and security. There are three sizes of Lens Charger cases; a specialized "Whip it Out" case for quick access to longer tele zoom lenses; a Speed Charger case for accessories; a flash case; Chimp Cases to hold two SLR bodies; plus several others.

The larger component cases have padded removable inserts so they can be customized for different-sized items, and there is a sealed-seam rain cover for weather protection. A smaller Think Tank Modulus Speed Set version with six bags has a more affordable price.

Each component of the Think Tank Pro Modulus Speed Set is well assembled with nice attention to detail and fittings. They should hold up for years of rugged field use.
