The North Face Trailhead 6 family tent
Date Published: 6/22/06
The North Face Trailhead 6 is a family tent that is designed to sleep six people and also hold their gear. It is virtually a home away from home with 94 square feet of space.
It offers a common area and two sleeping quarters, separated by roll-down dividers. Access to the tent interior is via two large doors. In addition, there is a large front vestibule and smaller rear vestibule; both provide conveniently accessible and sheltered extra room for gear.
The sturdy nylon floor is taped with seams angled to maximize usable floor space. Corner webbing on the rain fly and canopy is color-coded for easy setup. As with many other TNF tents, the Trailhead 6 uses a combination of pole clips and continuous pole sleeves. Larger diameter (13 millimeter) aluminum alloy poles provide strength and rigidity. As with most family tents, this one offers a number of internal pockets and hang loops to help keep everything organized.
It is relatively heavy and also more expensive than some other family tents. But with features such as room dividers and the privacy they allow, it will help make everyone in the family a happy camper. A compression stuff sack is included, as well as guy lines, and stakes with the Trailhead 6 family tent.
The TNF Trailhead 6 is a good family tent with roomy interior volume and typically good TNF materials and construction.
