A sliding zoom lock switch lets you lock the lens at the shortest 28mm position so it won't accidentally extend while walking about with the lens attached to the camera. A special flower-shaped lens hood is included.

The test prints for the Tamron AF28-300mm XR Di Ultra Zoom Lens were exceptionally sharply detailed at a variety of focal lengths from ultra wide-angle 28mm out to full 300m telephoto. Colors were excellent as was the image quality.
