T-Fal's Color Clad cookware set is striking in vivid enamel over stainless steel. Each of the pans has a glossy enamel exterior and coordinating soft-grip rubberized handle grips. The 10-piece set comes with a 7-quart covered stockpot, 1-quart, 2-quart and 3-quart covered saucepans, and 8-inch and 9.5-inch saute pans. The pans are crafted from long-lasting brushed stainless steel and feature a multi-layer disk base, which encapsulates a thick-gauge aluminum core between layers of stainless steel to combine the best elements of both metals.

The flat disk base provides extra stability to prevent warping or buckling and is compatible with all stovetops, including induction. The cookware is oven safe up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and requires only low to moderate heat to perform at its best. All the pans are dishwasher safe as well.

Several other features of the Avante pans deserve mention. The beautiful glass lids have a stainless-steel band that is molded so the lid sits just inside and atop the pan, locking in steam and flavor. The lid handles and pan handles are double riveted in place for permanence and, as mentioned earlier, have a soft rubberized coating (in the color that matches the enamel exterior) that is both cool-to-the-touch and nonslip.

Inside the saucepans and stockpot there are printed measurement markings that indicate the volume in liters and quarts. The pans also have a rolled top rim for easier pouring. The pans are sturdy, but not overly heavy. This is a great set for someone just starting out who wants something a bit nicer than the low-budget options.
