The Sunbeam Tea Drop Hot Tea Maker HTM3 brews up to 28 ounces of piping hot tea into its own glass carafe. This unit consists of a compact base with rear water reservoir, removable steeping basket, permanent steeping filter, removable tea channel, warming plate, and lid and glass carafe with curved stay-cool handle. To use, simply fill the reservoir with cold water, add tea bags or loose tea to the steeping basket, close the lid, and turn the unit on by depressing the on/off switch. The switch will light up indicating that the brewing has begun.

The warming plate will also begin heating the glass carafe. Within a few minutes tea will begin to flow into the carafe. It takes about 4 minutes to brew a full pot. The total time depends on the number of cups you are brewing and the tea strength selected. There are three settings for mild, medium, or strong tea, depending on your preference. We found the temperature of the brewed tea to be ideal for serving either black or with a bit of milk or cream.

The Sunbeam Tea Drop can use any type or variety of teas, loose or bagged, and requires two teaspoons (or bags) per 12 ounces of water. The warming plate keeps the brewed tea hot and ready for serving. If more tea is desired, you can pour the brewed tea into a thermal carafe and brew another pot immediately.
