Sunbeam 4-Slice Toaster 6277
Date Published: 1/25/07
The Sunbeam 4-Slice Toaster 6277 quickly delivers toasted breads, bagels, muffins and convenience foods -- four at a time.
This unit measures 7.5 inches tall by 12.5 inches wide by 11 inches deep at its widest points. It has a clean-looking white plastic housing that stays cool to the touch during use.
There are four 1.5-inch-side toasting slots, which can handle hearty bagels and thin-sliced bread with equal ease. Wire guides hold foods upright and centered within the slots for perfect toasting.
As with many four-slice models, the Sunbeam 6277 has two carriage levers to let you control the right and left sets of toasting slots independently. This is especially convenient if you are toasting delicate pastries on one side and hearty bagels on the other. Each set of slots also has its own toast color guide, with settings from 1 (light) to 7 (dark), as well as separate Bagel and Cancel buttons.
Toasting with the Sunbeam 6277 couldn't be simpler. Just place your bread in the slots, select a toast shade, and press down on the carriage lever. The toast will pop up automatically when the desired shade is achieved. We found this unit to be quick and efficient. The electronic toasting technology virtually assures you of consistent results each time you toast.
For hamburger buns, bagels and the like, you can use the "Bagel" button to toast just one side, while warming the other.
Additional features include slide-out crumb trays, which are conveniently positioned on the front of the unit for easy access; rubber feet, so the toaster won't move around on your countertop; and wraparound cord storage underneath the unit.
We loved the CoolTouch Exterior, which wipes clean with a damp cloth. We also liked the high-rise toast lift feature, which lets you raise toast up for easier removal.
Pros: CoolTouch Exterior, toast logic electronic toasting technology
Cons: Bulky-takes up more counter space than a 2-slice model
