As with most Sony VCRs, the SLV-N900 offers excellent ease of use. The unit features a built-in cable box and DirecTV receiver control, as well as VCR Plus+ programming for the simple recording of favorite TV shows. If you're in a hurry, the VCR's QuickSet Timer dial allows you to rapidly program a recording without even having to turn on the TV.

The SLV-N900 is not the cheapest VCR available, but it delivers a quality picture from even old home-recorded VHS tapes recorded in extended play mode. Playback features such as commercial skip and automatic indexing of recorded material add to the functionality of the SLV-N900.
