Sony SLV-D350P

Date Published: 2/7/08

The Sony SLV-D350P is a WEGA-styled DVD/VCR combination player. Finished in eye-catching silver, the SLV-D350P provides a space-saving alternative to having separate VCR and DVD players. You can preserve your existing library of VHS titles while also enjoying the superior picture quality of DVD, as this player handles a broad array of formats including VHS and S-VHS tapes, along with DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW. The SLV-D350P can also play CD-R/RW, as well as CD encoded with MP3 files. In addition, this unit can create a digital slideshow from JPEG-encoded CD. When hooked up to a digital television, the SLV-D350P offers the superior picture quality of progressive scan output. Images appear clean and sharp with few jagged edges or artifacts, lending DVD movies more of a theater-like quality. Among the DVD playback options, the SLV-D350P allows the picture to be advanced in slow motion or frame by frame, and the screen zoom function magnifies any aspect of the screen. There is also a handy bookmarking feature, as well as parental lock to keep young eyes from viewing adult material. In addition to standard VHS tapes, the VCR side of the SLV-D350P can also play back S-VHS tapes in standard VHS resolution. It has a one-month, eight-event timer for recording favorite TV shows, as well as all the convenient playback features you'd expect from a Sony VCR. The commercial skip function forwards the tape at 30-second increments to quickly fast-forward through commercials and previews. The SLV-D350P offers component video, S-video, and coaxial and optical digital outputs for DVD, or a single RF connection to display both VHS and DVD signals. Each component can be connected through a single set of stereo analog-audio cables, or Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround signals can be routed through the unit's digital-audio outputs to a full-featured A/V receiver and multichannel speaker system. This is a versatile DVD/VCR combination player.
