The 26-inch KLV-S26A10 is a standout member of Sony's new Bravia line of LCD TVs. The wide-format screen is contained in a slim silver cabinet that has built-in stereo speakers, and it comes with a tilt-and-swivel pedestal stand. Control buttons are located along the upper edge of the monitor, and the side panels contain a headphone jack, audio/video and S-video inputs, a PC input, and an HDMI input, all within easy reach. The KLV-S26A10's remaining inputs, which include an RF input, a pair of audio/video/S-video inputs, and a component video input, are located on the rear panel, along with clips to bundle connected cables to keep them out of the way.

The picture is crisp and clean, with a native resolution of 1,366X768, displaying images at 720p. A separate HD receiver is necessary for the display of true high-definition content. The KLV-S26A10's picture quality is enhanced by a 3-D Y/C digital comb filter, motion-adaptive progressive scan conversion, 3:2 pulldown technology, and a light sensor that adjusts the screen depending on surrounding light conditions.

The internal stereo system produces 20 total watts of audio output, and options include simulated surround sound and five audio presets. Just some of the other handy features are a freeze memo that activates a small inset window, access to a program guide, memory for eight favorite channels and memory for the particular audio/video settings for each input. The KLV-S26A10's remote control is a universal model that fits a lot of functions into its relatively basic layout.
