The Sony DVP-NS90V is an amazing value. Considering that just a few short years ago SACD-capable players retailed for about $5,000, the fact that a unit with a feature list as impressive as the DVP-NS90V has a suggested retail price of $200 is astounding.

The DVP-NS90V can handle multiple formats including SACD and DVD-Video (but like other Sony DVD/SACD decks, not DVD-Audio). The player has a 720p/1,080i HDMI output, which transfers digital audio and video signals without compression to a similarly equipped digital TV or home theater receiver. This is a fantastic feature for a budget player. The DVP-NS90V even has features such as a sync adjustment that will align a DVD's audio and video to avoid a delay in the signal.

In addition to SACD and DVD-Video, the DVP-NS90V is compatible with DVD+R DL (Dual Layer), along with DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, CD, CD-R/RW, and MP3 and JPEG files burned to disc. The DVP-NS90V is capable of producing regular audio while the video is in fast-playback mode.

With its many useful features, excellent disc compatibility, and budget price, the Sony DVP-NS90V is a steal.
