The overall construction of the DVP-FX810 feels more solid than many other low-price models, and we're not just talking about products from no-name brands. The hinge on the swivel display does not feel like it will immediately break in the hands of an eager child, and the case is durable enough to withstand the occasional knocks and bumps incurred during frequent travel.

One downside to the robust construction is the DVP-FX810's above-average weight. The DVP-FX810 weighs about 2.25 pounds with the battery attached, although it should be pointed out that the expected battery life is an excellent 5.5 hours, depending on the settings selected. This is enough to watch at least two average-length movies.
