What could be better than a disc player that can handle DVD-Video and SACD? How about a 400-disc DVD/SACD mega-jukebox? Sony's DVP-CX995V is a multichannel changer that can hold up to 400 SACD, DVD-Video, DVD+R/RW, CD and CD-R/RW, and it can even play MP3 files burned to disc. Unfortunately, like other Sony units, the DVP-CX995V does not support DVD-Audio.
The DVD-Video playback features a progressive scan output with 12-bit, 108MHz processing. For discs that have experienced some wear and tear, the DVP-CX995V uses Sony's Precision Drive 2 system to help the optics properly track even warped media. In addition to multichannel SACD playback, the DVP-CX995V has Dolby Digital and DTS passthrough via either the 5.1 analog output or the coaxial and optical digital audio outputs.
The DVP-CX995V has advanced scan modes that produce smooth images even while in fast-forward or reverse. It uses an innovative on-screen navigation system to make it easy to sort through the massive number of discs that can be stored, and the same system helps when going through the files on an MP3-encoded disc. The player comes with a multibrand remote control, and it has component, composite, and S-video outputs. With its massive capacity and ability to play back most disc formats, the DVP-CX995V has the potential to hold an entire music and video collection.Warranty
