Snapper SPV21675 self-propelled gas mower

Date Published: 3/19/08

Snapper's SPV21675 self-propelled gas mower gives you reliability and proven performance in an easy-to-use machine. For starters, this unit's 3-in-1 convertible deck allows you to mulch, bag or side-discharge your grass clippings. Switching between cutting operations is easy, but the wide-mouth bag is a terrific addition, as it makes this bag simple to empty. The high dome deck provides good airflow so grass clippings flow freely, and the 3-in-1 double wave blade ensures strong all-around cutting performance for all three cutting applications. The 21-inch deck can be set to one of nine different cutting positions ranging from 1.25 to 4 inches; this wide a range gives you the flexibility needed to handle just about any grass type or mowing condition. The best part, however, is that you only need to move one lever instead of four in order to adjust the cutting height on all four wheels.

The Briggs & Stratton engine delivers 6.75 foot-pounds of torque, so there's plenty of power to handle your toughest turf. We especially like how easily the engine starts thanks to the ReadyStart feature, which makes priming and choking a thing of the past; all you need to do is pull the cord for power. Also, the Fresh Start fuel cap keeps the fuel fresh for up to six months by slowly releasing a liquid stabilizer via an insert that snaps inside the cap. Fresh gas makes for easy starts and a smooth-running machine.

A variable-speed rear-wheel-drive system offers the versatility that is needed to handle a variety of conditions, with a speed capability of up to 4.2 mph; that's more than enough speed to power through a flat lawn or an open space at a fast pace. You can adjust the speed by squeezing a lever located on the handlebar. Our testers with small hands did find the lever a bit stiff and somewhat uncomfortable to keep engaged when mowing. Wearing gloves helps, especially since the handlebar is over-molded rather than padded and the round bail rod can be a bit uncomfortable on bare hands.

Other features include a handle that can easily be adjusted to provide a custom fit for just about any user. When you're done for the day or the mowing season has come to an end, the handles also fold for easy storage.

When it comes to power and performance, Snapper's SPV21675 self-propelled gas mower has just the right amount of features that you need to get the job done right.
