Snapper LT300 LT2044 lawn tractor

Though they are perhaps better known for their rear-engine models, Snapper brings excellent quality and comfort to their line of front-engine lawn tractors. The LT300 LT2044 is a mid-level mower, offering plenty of power and performance but skipping some of the top-end features of the company's higher-priced models. Granted, it's an expensive machine, but it's a great option for those that have a large, rugged yard and want a versatile mower that will stand the test of time.
The LT300 LT2044 comes with a hearty 20-hp Briggs & Stratton Vanguard overhead valve engine and a K57 hydrostatic automatic transmission. The engine is much quieter then many other models, and the Automatic Controlled Traction (ATC) works well to keep users from getting mired in muddy areas.
The 10-gauge welded steel frame and pivoting cast-iron front axle help provide a solid, steady ride, even over aggressive terrain; in fact, we find the ride extremely comfortable. The high-backed seat and ample spacing between the wheel and seat allows the operator to lean back easily; this, combined with the cruise control and foot-controlled acceleration, makes it feel a little more like driving through Nebraska than mowing the back field.
We like the LT300 LT2044's Quick-Hitch attachment removal system, which quickly and easily allows you to remove the 44-inch deep-profile cutting deck for cleaning or to add an attachment; with the simple removal of a bolt, the entire cutting deck slides forward to unlatch, which is a tremendously easy process.
The LT300 LT2044 is compatible with most of Snapper's available attachments, including baggers, leaf shredder kits, dethatchers, snow throwers and even a snow cab. With these attachments, this tractor can become a jack-of-all-trades workhorse, although said attachments don't come cheap.
In all, we didn't find many negatives in the LT300 LT2044, aside from its hefty price and the high costs of its optional attachments. It includes a strong engine, provides a smooth, relatively quiet ride, and offers several bonus features that adds to the overall quality of the tractor. If you have a large yard and want to utilize your tractor for multiple purposes, you certainly should consider the LT300 LT2044.
