Skil 7300-01 Octo sander
Date Published: 2/26/07
The Skil 7300 Octo sander features an octet of snap-in attachments that drastically increases its versatility over other detail sanders, particularly at this price point (less than $40).
The easy-to-switch attachments include a slot, convex, flexible, finger, outside corner, inside corner, delta extension and a three-position nose detail. That's plenty of options and should cover most small applications, letting you use a single tool for a wide range of detail-oriented projects and contours -- from chair spindles to moldings. It's powered by a 0.8-amp motor, which isn't exactly earth-shaking, but it's a nice alternative to manual sanding.
The corded tool is small, but substantive. Its soft-grip handle provides a good amount of control, and the built-in work light illuminates tough-to-see areas.
The he Skil 7300 Octo sander features a switch that's sealed against dust, as well as a dust canister. The Skil 7300-01 Octo sander comes with 32 pieces of sand paper and a canvas bag, and is covered by a 1-year warranty.
