Skil 2895 cordless drill/driver
Date Published: 7/10/07
For professional power at a DIY suggested price of $99.99, the 18-volt Skil 2895 cordless drill/driver is hard to beat. This unit comes fully loaded with user-friendly features, an all-metal gear train, two speed ranges and 33-percent more torque than Skil's 2887 18-volt drill/driver. This is one drill built to tackle the most demanding tasks on your to-do list.
The variable-speed 2895 includes a long list of functional features. We especially like the spring-loaded battery release, and the battery effortlessly snaps back into place. The battery has five charge-level indicator lights, and the charger fills the battery to capacity in a fast 90 minutes. The clutch ring easily adjusts to one of 20 clutch settings, and the single-sleeve keyless chuck makes for quick and simple bit changes.
Other user-friendly features include a rubberized grip, a removable side-assist handle for better control and a conveniently located switch for shifting gears, as well as on-tool bit storage, a built-in level and a bit index so you can always drill and drive with accuracy. The 2895 kit comes with two 18-volt batteries, the charger, two double-end bit tips and the left/right side-assist handle, all of which fit snugly inside the sturdy carrying case.
For an economical drill that's loaded with power and upgraded features, we highly recommend the Skil 2895 cordless drill/driver.
