Shure M97xE

The Shure M97xE phono cartridge is able to bring out the extreme high-end of a recording due to its high-quality stylus (the replaceable N97xE).
There are many people who believe that phonographs still sound better than any of the digital formats. With a cartridge such as the Shure M97xE, they may very well have a valid argument. Shure claims that the precision tracking and sound is due to the Type II low-mass thin-wall aluminum alloy stylus cantilever, along with a high-quality elliptical diamond tip.
This may sound impressive on paper, but wait until actually hearing the M97xE in action. It employs a dynamic stabilizer that uses a brush to help keep the cartridge properly placed above a record, no matter how warped the record might be. It also features the Side-Guard stylus protection system that encloses the tip if sideways motion is detected.
The moving magnet cartridge uses a standard 1/2-inch tone-arm mount. The tracking force ranges from 3/4 grams to 1-1/2 grams. The frequency response is flat from 20Hz to 22kHz, with 25dB channel separation at 1kHz.
While many audiophiles find this cartridge to be ideal, even an average listener will appreciate the superior sound of the Shure M97xE.
