Shindaiwa Handheld Power Blower EB240S
Date Published: 1/5/07
Shindaiwa's smallest and lightest blower, the EB240S gasoline-powered handheld blower provides the same commercial-grade construction and efficient engineering as the company's larger models. This handheld model doesn't deliver the comfortable, long-term clearing endurance of Shindaiwa's backpack blowers, but its more compact design and light weight (just 9.2 pounds) make it a good choice for tasks where portability, versatility and maneuverability are just as important.
Although this is Shindaiwa's quietest blower (67db), it provides an adequate supply of clearing power. The impeller is durable glass-filled nylon, which is more efficient than die-cast units, and the high-torque 24cc engine features a durable chrome-plated cylinder and Walbro rotary valve carburetor, both standard Shindaiwa touches. The 166-miles-per-hour air speed is a little lower than some other comparably priced blowers, but what it lacks in hurricane-level gusts, the EB240S gasoline-powered handheld blower makes up for with Shindaiwa's longstanding -- and well-deserved -- reputation for innovative and efficient design. The EB240S gas-powered handheld blower comes with a 2-year consumer warranty.
Pros: Professional-level design, relatively low noise
Cons: Merely adequate air speed
Warranty
1 year, commercial use; 2 years, residential use; lifetime, drive shaft and major ignition components
