Sharp's LC-26D7U is a 26-inch AQUOS LCD HDTV that is equipped with ATSC and NTSC tuners as well as a QAM tuner and CableCARD slot. With all this hardware, the widescreen LC-26D7U is ready for high-definition content and digital cable with no additional receivers required.

This set can even connect to a PC via the included DVI interface. The titanium and black finish gives a stylish look to the LC-26D7U, which has a removable table stand and detachable speakers below the wide-format flat screen.

The set has an 800:1 contrast ratio, 450 cd/m2 of brightness, and resolution of 1,366X768. Five color temperature presets deliver more choices than most comparable TVs, allowing users to easily adjust the color palette to individual tastes.

The stereo speakers deliver 20 watts of audio output, and they can be removed if the LC-26D7U is connected to an external audio system via the optical digital or analog audio outputs on the rear panel. The LC-26D7U provides access to TV Guide On Screen, an electronic program guide that can be used to search for programs by name or category and remind users when favorite programs are about to start.

Among the many convenience features are memory for up to 16 favorite channels, closed captions, and a choice of four picture settings when viewing standard-format content. Connectivity is a strong feature of the LC-26D7U, which has two digital RF inputs and an analog RF input, three audio/video inputs, an HDMI interface, a DVI interface, two HD component video inputs, an S-video input, and an RS-232 input.

A center channel input allows the internal speakers to be used as part of a complete home theater speaker system, and a headphone jack and audio/video outputs are also provided. The universal remote control gives access to all of the TV's many functions, as well as basic control over associated components such as a DVD player and VCR.

The picture provided by the Sharp LC-26D7U is crisp and richly detailed, and the screen is viewable from up to 170 degrees vertically and horizontally, allowing visibility from basically anywhere in the room.
