Sharp Insight Microwave Drawer KB-6002LS
Date Published: 6/26/07
Sharp's second generation Insight microwave drawer, the 30-inch KB-6002LS, improves greatly upon the original by replacing the motorized drawer with a manual one. No longer do your risk damaging your unit when an unsuspected guest pulls on this microwave's drawer.
Instead of a pushbutton and motor, the newer model KB-6002LS relies on a simple pull-out drawer. This eliminates the possibility of damage, but does create a drawer that doesn't open quite as smoothly as the previous one. The only time this is a potential hazard is when an overly full container of hot liquid is in the drawer. In this instance, it is possible to spill it over if the drawer is not pulled out slowly. Our advice to you is to pull the drawer out slowly and to refrain from filling containers to the brim with liquids such as coffee or soup.
A flexible product, the Sharp Insight drawer can be built-in under the countertop or under any oven, gas or electric, like a warming drawer. It's a great alternative for those whose kitchen has space limitations that prevent them from building in a microwave either at eye level or over the range. A particularly clever design, this model is also an ideal way to offer more independence to those confined to wheelchairs.
The features of the KB-6002LS are quite inclusive. A sensor ensures accurate reheating and defrosting. Word prompts remind you to stir foods when necessary. A full size 9x13-inch pan fits without a problem and a keep warm setting allows you to operate this unit much like a warming drawer.
Truly a revolutionary design, Sharp's KB-6002LS is a unique product that's sure to continue gaining fans.
