The Scaleworks Precision Digital Scale SW-CR172 is a great multipurpose unit that comes with its own 3-quart translucent weighing bowl.

You can use the scale without the bowl for weighing self-contained foods, such as fruits, vegetables, meats, butter, shortening, or other solids. Add the bowl to weigh liquids and other "loose" ingredients including flour, sugar, eggs, milk, and more.

There are no buttons on this unit. Instead, you simply press down on the weighing platform to activate the power and reset the scale to zero. By pressing after adding an ingredient, you can return to zero and weigh subsequent ingredients without having to empty the bowl.

This model has a maximum capacity of 5 pounds (2 kg) and registers measurements in whole grams or pounds and ounces, including fractions to 1/8 degree.

A small switch on the bottom of the Scaleworks Precision Digital Scale SW-CR172 lets you change mode from ounces to grams. An Auto off feature switches the power off after 3 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life. One AA battery (included) is required to operate the electronic display.
