Samsung's LNR328W is a 32-inch LCD TV that is HD-ready and equipped to display PC content.

The compact and lightweight silver monitor has a V-shaped contour below the screen, with built-in speakers and detachable table stand included. The screen is framed in black to enhance the brightness of the picture, and it can be mounted on a wall with standard VESA hardware (available separately).

The on-screen resolution is 1,366X768, and the set has a 3,000:1 contrast ratio and 500 cd/m2 of brightness. A sensor automatically adjusts the screen's brightness to optimize viewing in a range of light conditions. Images are sharp and highly detailed, with lively colors and very fast response times that can even keep up with the speed of video games. A 3-D Y/C digital comb filter eliminates hanging dots and dot crawl for a cleaner picture. The LNR328W can be viewed from basically anywhere in the room, as its viewing angle is 170 degrees both horizontally and vertically. An HD receiver is required for full high-definition viewing on this set.

Located below the screen, the speakers produce 20 watts of audio output and can be set to create a 3-D audio effect. Convenience features include an adjustable sleep timer, picture-in-picture viewing, and a previous channel return. The universal silver remote control is attractive and easy to manage, with a slide panel at the base holding PIP buttons and controls for a Samsung DVD player or VCR connected through the AnyNet system.

The LNR328W has a full range of connection options for additional components. The rear panel contains an RF input, an audio/video input, an S-video input, two component video inputs, an HDMI interface, a PC input with audio, a headphone jack and an AnyNet RS232 jack.

The Samsung LNR328W cries out for additional components to take advantage of its great picture and wide screen, and it is a good choice if you are moving toward an HD set.
