Samsung DVD-L70 portable DVD player
Date Published: 1/9/08
The DVD-L70 is an entry-level model in Samsung's line of portable DVD players. With a 7-inch TFT LCD screen that offers a 160-degree viewing angle, a 2.5-hour rechargeable battery, and a slim (1-1/10 inches) design, the DVD-L70 combines functionality and portability. The player weighs just 1.3 pounds, yet it is sturdy enough to withstand the rigors of frequent travel. The screen offers 16:9 widescreen display, and its rotating design means it is always comfortable to view.
The DVD-L70 is an ideal unit to keep kids entertained on those long road trips. Samsung includes a car adapter, as well as a Reverse Display feature that enables the picture to be flipped 180 degrees so the player can be mounted from the ceiling of a car's interior. The locking disc bay also means that once a disc is loaded, it will remain locked in place to prevent annoying skips or pauses while driving over rough roads or experiencing turbulence on a flight.
The player offers twin headphones jacks, built-in speakers, and good disc compatibility. As well as standard DVD movies and audio CD, the DVD-L70 handles home-recorded DVD-R as well as CD-R/RW, including those loaded with MP3 digital audio files. The DVD-L70 can also be used as a portable slideshow display when loaded with JPEG picture discs.
The DVD-L70 comes equipped with a credit card-style remote control, and it has a set of audio/video inputs to connect a game console or even a camcorder. With an MSRP of $230, the DVD-L70 costs little more than many of the no-name budget portable DVD players, yet it offers the superior quality and performance of the Samsung brand.
