Samsung a900 CDMA Mobile Phone
Date Published: 1/7/08
The Samsung a900 is a good buy for those seeking a slim phone with video and audio extras. First of all, the A900 is equipped with 50MB of internal memory that can store downloaded music and surprisingly good pictures and video taken by the 1.3-megapixel camera. These can be sent out via high-speed Internet or viewed on the impressive 240x320 pixels, 262k-color display. The screen's clarity is especially helpful when viewing video over the EV-DO high-speed network. An external display also shows time, picture ID, as well as battery and call strength.
If you often use your phone's hands-free setting, know the one downside of this phone is that there is no dedicated speakerphone button. You must scroll through the menu to activate it. Otherwise, the A900 includes Bluetooth, a stereo headset jack, a 500-contact phonebook, voice dialing and vibrating alert. Battery life is a bit short at 3 hours of talk time and 7 days of standby. Overall, this is a good phone for those who want multimedia capabilities in a slim package.
Pros: sleek, quality LCD, large internal memory
Cons: no speakerphone button, short battery life
