Salter's Glass Kitchen Scale is a simple-to-use electronic platform scale suitable for weighing all types of foods, either directly on the hygienic glass platform or in a separate bowl. The top of the platform is a 7-inch by 7-inch piece of toughened glass (1/8-inch thick) with safe, rounded edges. The clear glass plate is mounted on a curved front footing and two round rear footings. The entire assembly stands 1.25 inches tall, small enough to tuck away in a drawer for easy storage.

The scale comes with two replaceable long-life 3V lithium batteries and uses a precision strain-gauge weight sensing system to calculate the weight (in ounces/pounds or grams/kilograms) up to a maximum load of 11 pounds (5 kilograms). The scale can weigh items to within 1/8 ounce accuracy. The front panel has two small pushbutton controls. The on/zero button resets the display to zero at the start of weighing or between ingredients when multiple ingredients are added to one bowl. The KG/LB button lets you quickly convert between metric and imperial units at any time during weighing. An auto switch off function turns the display off after 1 minute if the readout is zero or after three minutes if the readout shows the same weight for that duration of time. The scale should be cleaned after each use by wiping the platform with a damp cloth.
