Safety 1st Acella Sport Travel System 01929
Date Published: 11/7/06
The Safety 1st Acella Sport Travel System 01929 includes a full-size stroller and an infant car seat with a stay-in-vehicle base. The stroller has many standard items, such as a five-point harness. Unlike some models, however, the Acella has a lightweight aluminum frame that folds up simply with one hand. A parent tray with three drink holders and a cell phone pocket adorn the back of this model. The stroller features jogging-style front wheels and a fully reclining seat with several recline positions. We found the stroller is easy to maneuver, but it was difficult in some instances to turn sharply.
It takes hardly any effort to clip the Acella Designer 22 Infant Car Seat (included) into the stroller and is equally effortless to remove. Like the stroller, the car seat also has a five-point harness, but not as much plush padding as other car seats in its class. We liked the generous canopy, but found the car seat's carrying handle is pretty average. The car seat's base is typical of basic models; it doesn't feature the extra safety indicators, such as bubble levels.
While this travel system can do the job for most parents, it will function at a most basic level because it has few frills. Still, if one is seeking a lightweight and relatively low-cost travel system, the Safety 1st Acella Sport 01929 could fit the bill. For those who like products with bells and whistles and strollers with a more athletic ability to perform, you may want to keep shopping for another travel system.
Pros: Lower cost than some travel systems, includes leave-in base
Cons: No frills, stroller can be difficult to turn
