Particle collection on this model is excellent thanks to a five-stage HEPA-type filtration system. Like most HEPA models, this unit's five-stage system removes 99.97 percent of the allergens from the air as it passes through the vacuum. Of the five-stages of filtration on the RY3050, one is a disposable paper dust bag. This bag is a Type R bag and is readily available from Royal dealers. A Type R filter is also used on this model and may require occasional replacement to ensure optimal filtration.

The body of the Royal Procision canister is solidly constructed of a durable plastic material. It rolls smoothly along on large, stable wheels and offers a hose with a 360-degree turn radius. A simple switch allows you to easily turn the brushroll on and off as you move from carpet to floors. We found the Royal canister to be equipped with wands constructed of heavy-duty metal, instead of cheap plastic wands.

Royal's RY3050 offers a better-than-average warranty of 2 years and is carried only by independent vacuum dealers. For this reason, this model will probably cost you more than a canister vacuum from a big-box store. The difference is that when you pay more for Procision RY3050 you get more in terms of durability and longevity.
