RCA 24V412T 24-inch TV
Date Published: 10/26/07
If you are looking for a basic 24-inch TV without a lot of bells and whistles, consider the RCA 24V412T.
The attractive silver front has bottom-mounted stereo speakers, and the side panel is home to composite video inputs for the quick connection of a camcorder or video game console. The picture isn't stunning, but it does a respectable job presenting standard analog images. Four picture preset modes let you rapidly switch between normal, bright, theater, and a custom setting.
The front-firing speakers deliver stereo audio in one of four preset modes. The 24V412T is equipped with an on-screen clock, sleep and wake timers, memory for up to five favorite channels, a front-panel lock, and parental V-chip controls. In an unusual move, RCA also offers an on-screen calendar and an electronic notepad that will display a message of your choosing either at a preselected time or each time you turn on the TV.
The 24V412T's rear-panel connection options are predictably limited, with a composite video inputs and an S-video input, along with an RF input and a video output. No component video or more sophisticated digital inputs are provided. The black remote control is easy to manage, as it fits comfortably in the hand and has only 31 buttons.
The RCA 24V412T is a flat-tube TV that is an affordable choice, but don't expect world-beating performance.
