ProForm SR 30 Exercise Cycle
Date Published: 7/22/08
The ProForm SR 30 recumbent exercise cycle is one of the better pieces of budget home fitness equipment we've come across. Of course, with a machine priced at nearly $200, you can't expect to find the same quality or features as you would with an exercise bike that costs ten times as much. As an inexpensive way to obtain a moderate workout at home, though, the SR 30 does its job. The seat on this recumbent bike is comfortable and provides sufficient back support. Adjusting the seat's position is a little awkward but once set, the SR 30 operates with a smooth, quiet motion. Resistance is adjusted manually via a knob that feels a little fragile, so you may want to look at buying an extended warranty for this bike. Sensors in the handle monitor your pulse and display the results on the LCD monitor, along with workout feedback such as speed, distance traveled, and calories burned. There is even a magazine rack and water bottle holder included on the console. This is clearly not a product aimed at serious athletes, but for a budget home exercise cycle, the ProForm SR 30 performs better than expected.
Pros: Inexpensive, comfortable, includes workout feedback, including heart rate
Cons: Awkward seat adjustment, short warranty
