Proctor Silex Hand Blender 59735
Date Published: 2/19/07
The Proctor Silex Hand Blender 59735 is an economical appliance that is handy for mixing up a variety of beverages and light batters.
The hand blender consists of a long, slender power shaft, which measures 13-2/5 inches long, by about 3-3/10 inches in diameter. At the end is a small stainless-steel blade, which is surrounded by a blade guard to prevent the blade from coming in contact with the walls of your container. The slim design lets you insert it into almost any container, even a milkshake cup, so long as the container has adequate depth to fully immerse the blade.
This unit has 120 watts of power to blend and mix such items as drinks, shakes, dips and other light batters. With no separate attachments to worry about, this hand blender is very convenient to use. Just plug it in, insert the slender rod into whatever mixture you are working with and press the control switch to begin blending. A one-touch pulse control pushbutton on the shaft operates the blade. When you are done, simply give it a quick rinse.
This hand blender is also easy to store. The ergonomic grip means that it fits comfortably in your hand. The Proctor Silex Hand Blender features a long 5-foot cord. This is especially useful when you can't be right next to an outlet. For blending hot liquids, such as soup, the hand blender is a better choice than a traditional blender, since the steam tends to force the lid off of the blender carafe. We feel this unit is not intended to be used for chopping ice or other hard foods since there is no container to prevent the particles from flying out of the bowl.
Easy to use, easy to clean, and easy to store, the Proctor Silex Hand Blender is a good choice for many of your blending and mixing needs.
Pros: Long cord for ready access and easy maneuvering, one-touch pulse control
Cons: Not really for chopping ice
