The Precor 5.21 is certainly a high quality elliptical machine that provides an effective, low impact workout, but for the price we think there are better value machines available. With its premium price tag, we'd like to have seen the inclusion of moveable arms and more programmed workouts on the 5.21si. As it is, the unit offers 6 different programs, including a heart rate control option using the included chest strap. There are 20 different resistance levels and this elliptical provides an electronic readout of workout statistics such as time, calories burned, total strides, and strides per minute. Curiously, though, there is no calculation of distance traveled. The 5.21si is a well constructed, sturdy device, as indicated by the lifetime warranty on the frame. If you can afford the initial investment, the Precor 5.21si elliptical machine should provide years of hassle free home workouts, whether you are a novice or an experienced exerciser.
