The Porter-Cable 2-1/4 Peak HP GripVac Router 891 will efficiently handle most woodworking tasks, including trimming laminate, shaping moldings, and cutting rabbets, dados, and grooves.

The Porter-Cable 891 comes with a GripVac base for super-efficient removal of dust from the shop. Just attach it to a shop vac. The GripVac handle also facilitates one-handed use of the tool. The GripVac handle does not interfere with table-mounted applications. The operator can adjust bit height from above the router table with a 3/16-inch hex socket wrench (not included).

The 891's powerful 12-amp, 3-1/2-inch-diameter motor can also be used to power Porter-Cable's traditional 690 Series spiral-down and plunge base router (8931). It is equipped with "soft start" circuitry that eliminates sudden jerks at start-up. Electronic feedback maintains constant bit speed as you work even if load changes.

Other nice features include an easy-to-use motor release, a fine height adjuster (to 1/128 inch), and two on/off switches for instant access. The Porter-Cable 891 comes with self-releasing 1/4- and 1/2-inch collets, wrench, and carrying case.
