Polk Audio LSi7 System
Date Published: 11/2/04
Let's clear up any confusion. Polk Audio's LSi7 speakers are separately available bookshelf speakers, while this LSi7 System is a complete home theater speaker setup based on the LSi7 speaker. Clear as mud, right? Good thing the sound of the speakers is clear as a bell.
The LSi7 System consists of four LSi7 bookshelf speakers, a single LSiC center channel speaker, and Polk's very popular PSW505 subwoofer. The front and rear LSi7 speakers are wonderful units, employing Polk's 1-inch ring-radiator tweeter, a 5-1/4-inch driver, and a rear-firing Power Port in a cabinet reinforced with 1-1/2-inch thick side panels for excellent bass and an extremely transparent high-end.
The frequency response is rated from 45Hz to 27,000Hz, with a nominal impedance of 4 ohms and recommended power of 20 watts to 150 watts. The center channel uses the same 1-inch tweeter along with two 5-1/4-inch woofers. The 300-watt powered subwoofer has a large 12-inch driver to produce a very solid, fast sound that is capable of 460 watts of dynamic power. The PSW505 features a variable low-pass filter and line-level and LFE inputs, with speaker-level outputs. The speakers all use five-way binding post terminals.
All of these speakers are available separately, but you'll save significantly by purchasing them as a package. Even better, you know that they all will match, and indeed, they sound incredible when combined into the LSi7 System.
