The db212-2 features a cabinet with Polk's Power Port, which reduces port turbulence noise. The cabinet is made from 3/4-inch MDF that does an admirable job reducing resonance while providing a rich tone. Heavy ABS grills in an attractive wheel hub design cover the drivers. More than just a cosmetic feature, the grills protect the drivers from any potential damage.

Each long-throw driver employs a single voice coil with parallel wiring to create a nominal impedance of 2 ohms. The frequency response of this monster is listed as 20Hz to 200Hz, with a sensitivity of 91dB. The continuous power handling is a massive 720 watts.

The cones are made from polypropylene and the surrounds use Santoprene rubber, both of which are designed to withstand the harsh car interior environment of heat, cold, humidity, and sunlight, all of which will slowly but surely break down lesser materials.
