A member of the Polk/MOMO High Performance Car Audio series, the MMC5250 package consists of a pair of 5-1/4-inch woofers, a separate pair of 1-inch tweeters, and an external crossover. The woofers utilize ultra-durable carbon fiber cones that are both lightweight and stiff, creating a fast response time with minimal distortion. The silk/polymer composite dome tweeters are liquid cooled for optimal operation, and they can be swiveled up to 15 degrees for precise imaging. The tweeters can be surface or flush mounted, and both types of housing are supplied.
The MMC5250's external crossover is a second-order 2,600Hz high- and low-pass filter. The overall frequency response of the package is 53Hz to 25,000Hz at 4 ohms, with a sensitivity of 89dB. The recommended continuous power ceiling is 100 watts, with a 200-watt peak.
