The Panasonic SV-MP020A MP3 player is proof positive that smaller can be better. This 2GB player is barely bigger than a fun-size candy bar, but it is full of useful options and sound-enhancement features. It also sports an excellent battery life.

The SV-MP020A can handle MP3 and WMA files, and it is compatible with PlaysForSure downloads and music subscription services. Transferring files to the SV-MP020A is a simple drag-and-drop exercise. Music playback sounds better than you might expect from a compact MP3 player, as Panasonic employs its D.sound technology that restores audio details lost during the compression process. The SV-MP020A also has a bass boost and a dynamic range compressor, along with a digital amplifier. There are five preset equalization curves to tune the system to your own personal tastes.

The SV-MP020A has a two-line backlit display that provides a limited amount of information, and the package comes with a set of better-than-average earbuds. The SV-MP020A uses a single AA battery that will provide an excellent 75 hours of playback. Panasonic doesn't include an internal rechargeable battery, but with regular disposable batteries, you can always carry an extra with you or pick up a new one just about anywhere.
